National Eligibility Entrance Test 2019: NEET 2019 is the medical/ dental entrance test conducted for admission in MBBS, BDS courses in Universities and Colleges run under the Medical Council of India, Dental Council of India. In the year 2018, the NEET was conducted by CBSE but from this year onwards National Testing Agency (NTA) will be holding NEET (UG) Exam.

In the press release by MHRD, the exam date of NEET is fixed on 5 Mya 2019 (Sunday). This exam will be held on Pen & Paper-based test similar to the CBSE way. The exam pattern and syllabus will be same as of NEET 2018.

The National Testing Agency is inviting online application for NEET 2019 from 1 Nov 2018 onwards. The candidates can visit official website www.ntaneet.nic.in is and fill the online application.

According to the Hon’ble Supreme Court, there should be single medical entrance exam throughout India for admission in UG/ PG medical and dental course apart from AIIMS and JIPMER. From 2015, CBSE is conducting National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for admission in MBBS/ BDS course. Previously AIPMT (All India Pre Medical Test) was conducted. The 15% All India Quota (AIQ) is reserved for the top 15% students.

Eligibility Required in NEET 2019

You should be eligible (age, qualification, nationality, attempts) for NEET-UG 2019. The candidate failing minimum eligibility standards should not fill the form, as their candidature is canceled in the later stage of selection/ admission any time. The minimum age limit is 17 years and the maximum is 25 years for UR candidate, 5 years age relaxation is given to the SC/ ST category candidates. NEET 2018 eligibility criteria shall be updated after the official “BULLETIN” is issued by CBSE.

Age Limit

The maximum age of 25 years for the Unreserved Candidate rule is applicable.

  • Minimum Age: The minimum age limit is 17 years as on or before 31st December of the year of admission.
  • Maximum Age: The maximum age limit is 25 years (for General and OBC candidates) and 30 years (for other categories).

Educational qualification

Here is the minimum education qualification required.

  • 10+2 appearing students are also eligible to apply.
  • Candidates should have qualified 12th or equivalent exam.
  • The candidate must have Chemistry, Physics, Biology/Biotechnology with English as a compulsory subject.
  • The qualifying exam (PCB group), students should have obtained at least 50% marks for general, 45% marks for general-PH and 40% marks for SC/ST & OBC.


  • Nationality: Candidates must be an Indian citizen.
  • OCI (Overseas Citizen of India) candidates are also eligible to apply.
  • J&K/AP/Telangana: Such candidates are eligible for All India 15% quota only (also eligible for admission in AFMC, Pune) on the basis of self-declaration.
  • Passport Required: The Foreign candidate/ OCI must have passport document.
  • Aadhaar Card Requirement: Indian National candidates must have an Adhaar Number to apply for NEET exam.

NEET 2019 BDS/ MBBS Exam Pattern 

NTA is going to conduct National Level entrance test for MBBS/ BDS admission. There are total 180 objective type questions in the NEET 2019  exam. All questions carry equal marks. There are three section ie. Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. From Physics subject: 45 questions are asked, from Chemistry: 45 questions are asked and from the Biology: 90 questions are asked. The candidate must prepare very well because the completion is very hard. You must download previous year question papers, solve them.

Exam Pattern of NEET 2018

  • Total question in the entrance test is 180 questions.
  • Duration is 3 hours (180 minutes)
  • Question paper: Pen and Paper based.
  • The question paper consists of Physics, Chemistry & Biology (Zoology & Botany) subjects question.
  • Correction answer carries 4 marks
  • Negative question: -1 marks is deducted
  • The medium of question paper will be asked in 10 languages like English, Hindi, Tamil, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Marathi and Telugu languages.
